Using Micro-Blaze Out® on E-85 Fuels

June 12, 2006

On June 8, 2006, Verde Environmental, Inc., the manufacturer of Micro-Blaze Out®, conducted tests on E-85 fuel fires, using the new alternative fuel in a 7' x 7' pan to simulate both spill fires and in-depth fires.

E-85 fuel is comprised of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline.  Ethanol is distilled from fermented grain — usually corn — in production plants. As Americans change to this new fuel to help regain our independence on foreign oil, more vehicle accident spills and fires involving E-85 will have to be handled by fire departments and emergency responders.

These tests were independently coordinated and observed by the Hobbs, NM Fire Department; the Lovington, NM Fire Department; Callaway Safety Equipment personnel, military firefighters and independent fire safety and training personnel.

In all cases, Micro-Blaze Out® extinguished the E-85 fires within seconds and did not re-ignite when the torch was held 2" above the fuel and when the torch was placed in the fuel.

Firefighters and emergency responders who currently use Micro-Blaze Out® for most of their Class A, Class B fires and other spills can be assured that, because of our patented microbial formulations, the E-85 hydrocarbon waste as well as the foam waste will be cleaned up.

The Micro-Blaze® line of microbial products continue to be at the forefront of truly environmentally friendly products.
