 PST Remediation and Removal

Abandoned and leaking petroleum storage tanks (LPSTs) pose a serious health threat to their surroundings. Plumes of hazardous petroleum products can travel through the soil into drinking water supplies. There is also risk of volatile vapors collecting into explosive levels.

Governmental regulations require that tanks must be clean and free of explosive vapors prior to removal or abandoning in place. This can be a time consuming, expensive procedure. Using Micro-Blaze® Emergency Liquid Spill Control in a high pressure washing setup can greatly streamline this operation.

According to many tank removal companies, the Micro-Blaze® Emergency Liquid Spill Control takes just a short time to inert any explosive vapors , as well as cleaning the tank at the same time.

Using Micro-Blaze® Emergency Liquid Spill Control to treat LPSTs:

  • Inerts volatile vapors inside tank
  • LEL levels drop to zero quickly; waste water removed easily
  • Remediates leaking hydrocarbon wastes when applied to surrounding soils
  • Less disruption to surrounding areas
  • On the U.S. EPA NCP List as a bioremediation agent *
  • Reduces worker exposure to volatility hazards, hazardous cleaning compounds
